The Task Force to monitor and expedite grant of Citizenship/Long Term Visa (LTV) will visit Lucknow on October 16, 2014 to address public grievances.
The Task Force, headed by Joint Secretary (Foreigners) in the Ministry of Home Affairs, will hold a daylong interactive public hearing session for redressal of grievances on LTV and citizenship issues with concerned applicants.
The Union Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh had reviewed matters relating to grant of Citizenship that takes a long time for completion of the entire process. This caused hardships and difficulties to applicants, especially to minorities from neighbouring countries who are often of poor economic standing. In this regard, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) had received representations from time to time. The Union Home Minister had approved the setting up of a Task Force to monitor and expedite processing of Citizenship and Long Term Visa (LTV) applications, on September 05, 2014.
