The Minister of State (I/C) for Petroleum & Natural Gas leaves today for Turkmenistan to attend the 19th Steering Committee meeting of TAPI

The Minister of State (I/C) for Petroleum & Natural Gas Shri Dharmendra Pradhan left today for Turkmenistan to attend the 19th Steering Committee meeting of TAPI (Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India) natural gas pipeline project. Besides attending the TAPI meeting Shri Pradhan is scheduled to discuss bilateral oil and gas cooperation issues with the Government of Turkmenistan.

Turkmenistan possesses World's 4th largest proven reserve of natural gas. The TAPI pipeline which will supply 15 billion cubic meter of gas to India will play an important role in contributing towards India's energy security. There has been considerable progress on the pipeline project in recent months.
