The Union Minister of Science & Technology and Earth sciences dr. Harsh vardhan congratulates scientists on the sucessful launch of ASTROSAT.

The Union Minister of Science & Technology and Earth Sciences, Dr. Harsh Vardhan congratulated scientists on the successful launch of PSLV C 30 which placed the ASTROSAT satellite along with six other customer satellites of other countries today.

Speaking to newspersons on board the Ocean research vessel Sindhu Sadhana off the coast Goa today the minister said he wants to share his joy with countrymen as we look forward to prospective research in astronomical sciences. Dr Harsh Vardhan said he was talking to our scientists at the Bharati research station at Antarctica from the National Center for Antarctica and Ocean Research in Goa last evening and today we had this launch which is important for astronomical sciences.

He also said that he is very happy that several institutes of his Ministry like the Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Raman Research Institute, S.N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences have immensely contributed for the success of today's launch.
