The work related to Management of Haj Pilgrimage, including administration of the Haj Committee Act, 1959 (51 of 1959) and the rules made thereunder has been transferred from Ministry of External Affairs to Ministry of Minority Affairs from 1st October, 2016. Cabinet Secretariat has amended The Government of India (Allocation of Business Rules), 1961" vide their Notification dated 19.09.2016.
Consultations with Haj Committees and State Government representatives are held from time to time. The last such meeting with State Haj Committees was organized by Haj Committee of India on 24.10.2016 in Mumbai
