Two Days' Conference of States/UTs from tomorrow to review progress of Schemes of Ministry of Women and Child Development

The Ministry of Women and Child Development will hold a two days' National Conference of the State Ministers and Principal Secretaries/Secretaries of Women and Child Development on 8th and 9th October, 2015 at New Delhi. The Conference will be inaugurated and chaired by the Union Minister of Women and Child Development, Smt. Maneka Sanjay Gandhi.

The conference has been organized to review with the States/UTs, the implementation of various schemes of the Ministry of Women and Child Development. Apart from the State Ministers and Principal Secretaries of WCD, the representatives of World Bank, UNICEF, BMGF, DFID and Tata Trust among others are expected to attend.

The issues related to adoption and mandatory registration of Child Care Institutions, Special Mahila Police Officers Scheme, Women Welfare Committee, One Stop Centres, ICDS implementation will be discussed in detail. On the second day i.e. 9th October, 2015, a special session marking 10 years of Gender Budgeting in India is proposed. This will be followed by review of Women's Homes, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Programme and panel discussions on malnutrition.
