The Union Home Minister, Shri Rajnath Singh chaired a meeting of the High Level Committee (HLC) for Central Assistance to States under the National Disaster Response Fund, here today. The Union Minister for Finance, Corporate Affairs and Information & Broadcasting, Shri Arun Jaitley, the Union Minister for Agriculture, Shri Radha Mohan Singh and senior officers of the Ministries of Home, Finance and Agriculture have participated in the discussions.
The Committee examined the proposals, based on the visits of the Central Team to the States affected by severe Natural Disasters during the last year. The HLC decided the assistance from NDRF in respect of Himachal Pradesh regarding floods / landslides, Uttar Pradesh floods and Maharashtra drought during Kharif crop.
