Shri Rajnath Singh reaches 12th Battalion, ITBP Matli, Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand on a 2-day visit
On the eve of New Year, the Union Home Minister reached the 12th Battalion of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) based in Matli, Uttarkashi today. Shri Rajnath Singh met the families of jawans residing in the family quarters of the Unit premises and greeted them. He will also join the ‘Bara Khana’ with the jawans later this evening.
On the second day of the visit tomorrow, the Union Home Minister will proceed to the Forward Posts to greet the ITBP jawans deployed at the Border Out-Posts (BOPs) of the Himalayan borders in Uttarakhand. Shri Rajnath Singh will reach the Nelong BOP of the ITBP located at 11,636 ft MSL. Director General, ITBP, Shri RK Pachnanda and senior officers of ITBP are accompanying the Union Home Minister.
This is the first ever visit by the Union Home Minister to the Nelong Valley. Earlier this year in September-October, Shri Rajnath Singh had visited Mana, Lapthal and Rimkhim BOPs besides various other formations of ITBP- Mountaineering & Skiing Institute at Auli near Joshimath and Gauchar and had celebrated Dusehera with ITBP jawans.
