Union Steel and Mines Minister Narendra Singh Tomar visits Bokaro Steel Plant
The Union Steel and Mines Minister, Shri Narendra Singh Tomar visited Bokaro Steel Plant in Bokaro, Jharkhand on Monday, 18th January 2016. He was accompanied by Secretary Steel, Smt. Aruna Sundrarajan and SAIL Chairman Shri PK Singh. On his arrival at Bokaro, Shri Tomar was welcomed by Bokaro Steel CEO Shri Anutosh Maitra and his senior colleagues. Shri Tomar was accorded a warm welcome by a Guard of Honour by the CISF jawans at the Bokaro airstrip. During his visit to Bokaro, Shri Tomar inspected the Blast Furnace no. 2 and Cold Rolling Mill-III of Bokaro Steel Plant. During the plant visit, Shri Tomar was apprised of the details of the operations of the said shops by senior officials of Bokaro Steel Plant. Later in the afternoon, a presentation was held at Bokaro Niwas through which Shri Tomar was apprised of the production, projects, future plans and other associated information pertaining to the plant. While addressing the officials, Shri Tomar emphasized the need of formulating plans and strategies for ensuring success in all aspects of plant operation. He expressed confidence in the ability of Bokaro Steel collective and urged them to maximize benefits from the modernization and expansion plans. Smt. Aruna Sundararajan and Shri PK Singh appreciated the efforts being made by Bokaro Steel and also shared their thoughts with the officials.
Shri Tomar proceeded to Dhanbad later in the day after his brief visit to Bokaro Steel Plant.
