Vice President condoles the loss of lives and environmental damage due to forest fires in Uttarakhand
The Vice President of India, Shri M. Hamid Ansari has condoled the loss of lives and environmental damage due to forest fires in Uttarakhand, here today.
Following is the text of Vice Presidents message:
I am saddened to hear of the tragic loss of life and property caused by massive forest fires in parts of Uttarakhand. The fires have also resulted in environmental damage. Relief and rescue operations are presently underway and every effort should be made to control the fires and render all possible aid to the injured and the bereaved families.
My prayers and thoughts are with the people of Uttarakhand. I join the people of the country in conveying my heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and wish speedy recovery to the injured persons."
