Vice President strongly condemns terrorist attack in Dhaka
The Vice President of India, Shri M. Hamid Ansari has strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Dhaka. He said that there can be no justification for such barbaric and reprehensible acts and terrorism today has global reach and all pluralist and open societies face a new level of threat.
Following is the text of Vice President's message:
"I am deeply shocked at the terrorist attack and the brutal killing of hostages, including an Indian national, in Dhaka. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of those whose loved ones have been killed.
There can be no justification for such barbaric and reprehensible acts. Terrorism today has global reach and all pluralist and open societies face a new level of threat.
International terrorism can only be defeated by organized international action. We stand with the people and Government of Bangladesh and commend their swift action in dealing with the attackers. I join the nation in praying for the bereaved families and early recovery of the injured."
