Visit of Sh Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of State (I/C) for Petroleum and Natural Gas to UAE
Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of State (I/C) for Petroleum and Natural Gas concluded his visit to United Arab Emirates earlier today. During his visit to Abu Dhabi on 12th April, Sh Pradhan had meetings with Mr Suhail Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy of UAE and Mr Sultan Jaber, Minister of State & CEO of ADNOC. He also interacted with the Indian professionals working in the oil and gas sector in Abu Dhabi.
During his discussions with UAE counterparts, Sh Pradhan acknowledged the importance of energy sector as a central pillar of India-UAE economic relationship and noted the increasing bilateral trade in this sector. He also highlighted the interest of Indian companies to participate in prospective exploration rounds in the UAE and in third countries. Referring to UAE supplying nearly 8% of Indian crude imports and given Indias demand for energy sources, Sh Pradhan pitched for maximising the term volume for Indian companies which import crude and LPG from UAE on favourable terms.
Sh Pradhan also discussed investment opportunities available in several major hydrocarbon sector projects in India including ONGC Petro Additions Ltd, Bharat Oman Refineries Ltd, Petchem complex in Andhra Pradesh, West Coast Refinery and Ennore LNG Terminal.
The visit of Sh Pradhan led delegation was a follow up of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and H E Suhail Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy of UAE to India in February 2016. He was accompanied by senior officials from his Ministry and CEOs of Public Sector Oil and Gas companies.
