Platform ticket price hiked to maintain social distancing: Railways

People who have confirmed train tickets will be allowed at stations, says Railway Board chairman.

Under the directive, DRM has decided to increase the price of platform tickets at many big stations in the country

The Indian Railways on Tuesday justified increasing the platform ticket price to Rs 50 and said it was a necessary step in the times of the coronavirus pandemic.
Talking to ANI on the issue, Chairman of Railway Board, Vinod Kumar Yadav said that such steps are necessary to maintain social distancing on the platform in the view of Covid-19 and it has been done under this view.
