France terror attack toll rises to 84, 18 critically injured

It is the second major terror attack in France after the November 2015 attack in Paris, which killed 130 people

The toll in the terror attack in Nice, France, has gone up to 84, including of several children, the Interior Ministry said.

Of the over 150 injured, 18 were in critical condition, and 50 were lightly injured, according to a ministry spokesman.

Earlier, 80 persons were reported to have been killed in the attack.

The tragedy occurred when a terrorist ploughed a truck, which was "loaded with" grenades and other arms, into a large crowd during Bastille Day celebrations on Thursday night in Nice, according to officials and French President Francois Hollande.
