Known as “The Little Wonder” and the best all-rounder of his day, John Wisden played 187 first-class cricket matches for – Kent, Sussex and Middlesex. He debuted for Sussex at 18.
Besides his cricketing feats that included 1,109 first-class wickets with a bowling average of 10.32, John Wisden is also known for launching Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack in 1864, a year after he quit first-class cricket.
