After branding Jamaat-ul-Dawa Chief Hafiz Saeed as an avowed terrorist, the United States has asserted that both him and the Lashkar-e-Taiba are designated by the Barack Obama-led Government and have the blood of several innocents on their hands.

Addressing a daily press briefing, Mark Toner, deputy spokesperson of the United States' Department of State said, " he's (Hafiz Saeed) listed by the UN Security Council 1267 Al-Qaeda Sanctions Committee for targeted sanctions due to his affiliation with the terrorist group Lashkar-e Tayyiba."

Asserting that both the LeT and Saeed are designated by the US Government, Toner further said that the LeT is obviously responsible for the death of hundreds of innocent civilians in terrorist attacks, including a number of American citizens.

Earlier, Saeed had reportedly said that United States is the real enemy of Pakistan.

Taking a dig at the US for declaring a bounty on his head, Saeed had said "There is a bounty worth crores on me but in the last five years US could not achieve anything out of it".
