Taking cue from Barack Obama's successful campaigning strategy, the Overseas Friends of BJP has decided to create an army of Indian-American volunteers to call their friends and relatives back home seeking their support for Narendra Modi in the next Lok Sabha polls.

"Each volunteer is expected to make at least 200 calls," president of OFBJP Chandrakant Patel said yesterday.

"Thousands of volunteers are getting ready to work for 'Mission 2014 - BJP 272+' in the US and some of them are travelling to India to campaign for the BJP," said Patel.

The objective of the campaign is to help BJP to win the parliamentary polls this year and have Narendra Modi as the next Prime Minister, he said.

The OFBJP will form a series of committees comprising of eminent Indian-Americans to work in various areas like social media, research and analysis, IT and web, youths and women.
