Iranian President Hassan Rouhani will take part in the 44th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in the Swiss city of Davos.
Rouhani will leave for Davos Wednesday to attend the WEF, which is the world's biggest and most important annual economic meeting, Xinhua quoted Mohammad-Reza Sadeq, a senior presidential advisor, as saying.
He will attend the meeting as a special guest and meet with leaders and senior officials of participating countries, Sadeq said. The visit will be Rouhani's first European trip since he took office in August 2013.
"The Reshaping of the World: Consequences for Society, Politics and Business" is the theme of the WEF slated for Jan 22-25. The goal of the meeting is to develop insights, initiatives and actions necessary to respond to the world's existing and emerging challenges.
