Real estate led the pack of alternative investments over the three years ended March 28. Most alternatives had a hard time beating the S&P 500 Index, which returned 12.7 per cent annualised over three years. Other alternatives that outperformed included corn, silver, Adolph Gottlieb paintings and vintage cars. A look at the top performers
