Timer-triggered blast in Civil Secretariat bus kills 19, injures 44 in Peshawar

At least 19 people were killed and 44 others injured when a bomb placed in a Civil Secretariat bus exploded in Peshawar.

Police and rescue officials reached the area and injured were taken to Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) and Charsadda District Headquarters Hospital, the Express Tribune reports.

The bus was carrying around 30 to 40 employees of the Secretariat, the report added.

According to the report, emergency has been declared in LRH following the blast.

The bomb disposal squad (BDS) suggested that the bomb contained around six to seven kilograms of explosive material with a timer attached to it.
