The world’s global nuclear warheads fell in the past year, as states that possess them pursue arsenal modernisation, according to the first study of nuclear forces data published by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institution (Sipri). Its annual nuclear forces data show that while the overall number of nuclear weapons in the world continues to decline, all of the nuclear weapon-possessing states are maintaining and modernising their nuclear arsenals.
