UNSC calls for solidarity with affected nations in its first Covid-19 meet

Craft stressed that successfully stopping the spread of this virus depends on the commitment from each one of us to work together in good faith

In its first meeting since the coronavirus pandemic broke out, the UN Security Council (UNSC) expressed the need for unity and solidarity with those affected by the virus and also sought support for efforts being made by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in mitigating the potential impact of the pandemic. 

The Council, led by its president for April Jose Singer Weisinger of the Dominican Republic, held a closed video-conference session in connection with the impact of Covid-19 on the issues that fall under UNSC's mandate. 

Antonio Guterres also briefed the UNSC during the meeting. He said the world faces its gravest
