The Democrats-led US House of Representatives passed a massive $3 trillion coronavirus relief package through the House. The Covid-19 relief bill is viewed as an election-year measure designed to brace the US economy in free fall and a healthcare system struggling to contain a pandemic still affecting the country.
The package is likely to be rejected by the Senate amid near-unanimous Republican opposition and a veto threat from President Donald Trump.
The rescue plan was approved on Friday night by a tight 208-199 margin amid opposition by Republicans as well as some moderate and progressive Democrats, reports Efe
