We’re only two days into by IHS Markit -- the week-long gathering in Houston of some of world’s biggest names in energy -- and fossil-fuel executives are already dumping on electric cars.

While BP Plc Chief Executive Officer Bob Dudley sees “tremendous” opportunities around the arrival of electric cars, he said they’re “not the silver bullet that everyone’s looking for.” Crude and natural gas will remain a part of the global energy mix
