Bobbi Kristina Brown, daughter of late singer Whitney Houston, passed away at the age of 22. Brown, who went into a coma after being found unresponsive in her bathtub in Atlanta this January, died at hosipital in in Duluth, Georgia, US on Sunday.

According to a report in The Guardian, Kristen Foster, a family representative, said: “Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away surrounded by her family. She is finally at peace in the arms of God. We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months.”

Brown had been in the centre of media glare her entire life, owing first to her mother's popularity, her parents' volatile relations and divorce and finally her worsening conditions after Houston's sudden death in 2012.

The  Guardian also stated, that the incident which led to Brown's coma and eventual death held grim echoes of her mother’s death. Whitney Houston too had been found dead in her bath.

Brown had told Oprah Winfrey shortly after her mother’s death in 2012 that she wanted to carry on her mother’s legacy by singing, acting and dancing. However, she could not establish a carrer in either of these.  Apart from a single episode in actor and producer Tyler Perry's TV show For Better or Worse in 2012, and a duet on TV with her mother in 2009, when the performed My Love Is Your Love in New York’s Central Park, the young starlet would be known in the media primarily for her relationship with foster brother Nick Gordon.

Houston brought Gordon, an orphan three years older than her daughter, into her family, and while she never formally adopted him or included him in the will, both teenagers called her “mom”, the Guardian reported.

On 24 June, Bobbi Kristina’s court-appointed representative had sued Gordon, accusing him of misrepresenting his relationship with Bobbi Kristina. The complaint accused him of being violent toward her and taking more than $11,000 from her account while she was in a medically induced coma after the Jan. 31 tragedy.

The lawsuit accused Gordon of assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, unjust enrichment and conversion.
