Chaos', the annual cultural festival of the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA), will begin in Ahmedabad from Thursday. |
Over the next four days, students from over 30 top colleges of the country will take part in several competitions besides being treated to live performances by Indian Ocean, Antaragini, Prime Meridian, Shankar Mahadevan, Louis Banks, Sivamani, Sreedharan, Karl Peters and Bombay Dreams. Between 700 and 800 students from both undergraduate and post-graduate colleges across the country will participate in the event. |
The highlight of Lipton Chaos 2004 (this year's edition of Chaos) will be that one college will be handed over the Chaos Trophy, that has been introduced for the first time. |
"Colleges will gather points over the next four days and the college that gathers the highest number of points will be the winner of the Chaos Trophy," said Ashley D'Souza, media co-ordinator for Chaos 2004. |
After students register themselves for the event, the programme event scheduled for the evening will be live performances by Antaragini and Indian Ocean. |
The competitions in various categories will begin from Friday morning. "There are cash prizes worth over Rs two lakh to be won," Ashley said. |
Some of the competitions in the 'Slug Fest' category include Fever Pitch, Asphyxia, Spin A Yarn, Mish Mash, Rhyme Crime, The Reel Deal and Globe Probe Dumba and Dumber, Crescendo and ThesaurasRex. |
There will be a treasure hunt, a fashion parade, art competitions, plays, mimicry and a whole range of musical competitions, both classical and western. |
