The Airports Authority of India (AAI) and Air Hostess Academy (AHA) have signed an MoU under which AHA's students will undergo training at the Pune International Airport. |
Pune Airport Director Deepak Shastri told reporters at a press conference that this is a pilot taken up by AAI as part of its endeavour to offer training to aspiring airline staffers. |
Shastri said in due course all airports in the country would conduct similar training programmes in association with various institutions. |
AHA Assistant General Manager Bela Goyal said the ministry of civil aviation has taken a policy decision to allow students in the aviation sector to avail of an on-site work experience at airports. |
"Pune airport and AHA will execute the pilot," Shastri stated, adding that the AAI will charge the institute for organising the training programme. |
He, however, clarified that the AAI would be open to training students from any institute imparting training in the aviation sector. |
Goyal added that the training of the first batch of 30 AHA students is already underway at the Pune airport. |
