The Airports Authority of India (AAI) and Air Hostess Academy (AHA) have signed an MoU under which AHA's students will undergo training at the Pune International Airport.

Pune Airport Director Deepak Shastri told reporters at a press conference that this is a pilot taken up by AAI as part of its endeavour to offer training to aspiring airline staffers.

Shastri said in due course all airports in the country would conduct similar training programmes in association with various institutions.

AHA Assistant General Manager Bela Goyal said the ministry of civil aviation has taken a policy decision to allow students in the aviation sector to avail of an on-site work experience at airports.

"Pune airport and AHA will execute the pilot," Shastri stated, adding that the AAI will charge the institute for organising the training programme.

He, however, clarified that the AAI would be open to training students from any institute imparting training in the aviation sector.

Goyal added that the training of the first batch of 30 AHA students is already underway at the Pune airport.
