Prasad Sangameshwaran was today presented the Business Standard-Seema Nazareth Award for Excellence in Print Journalism for 2004.

The award was given by Arjan Singh, Marshal of the Indian Air Force, at a ceremony held here.

The award comprises a reward of Rs 25,000 and a citation. "The jury for the award recognises Sanghameshwaran's flair for management writing and his ability to master and analyse complex information, providing readers with detailed and comprehensive perspectives on strategic business issues," the citation said, adding: "He is a journalist who sets and achieves high standard for himself, while retaining an eagerness to learn."

Sanghameshwaran writes for The Strategist, the weekly Business Standard supplement on marketing and advertising, and is based in Mumbai. He became the sixth recipient of the award instituted by Business Standard and the Nazareth family in memory of Seema Nazareth, a young Business Standardjournalist who died in 1999.

All Business Standardjournalists below 30 years of age are eligible for this award. Sanghameshwaran was selected from the 20-odd entries received by a jury of four.

"This award is recognition of the hard work that Sangameshwaran has put in to hone his skills and a celebration of his promise," the citation said.
