The second day at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) placements showed positive signs, with at least 20-25 per cent rise in overall salaries. Not just in terms of the number of companies, the number of international offers, too, has seen a 10-12 per cent jump.
IIT Roorkee has received about 150 offers from 30 companies. The international offers touched 22 on Wednesday, said N P Padhy, professor-in-charge, training & placement office at IIT Roorkee.
Around 150 students bagged jobs with top companies on the first day of their placement season at IIT Kharagpur, officials said on Wednesday. The recruiters ranged from software giants Google, Microsoft, Oracle and Visa to renowned consultancies like BMGI, Essex Lake Group and the Parthenon-EY group, they said.
