Dr Reddy's Foundation, through its Livelihood Advancement Business School (LABS) programme, is planning to set up 100 business schools in the next six months for young adults from the economically backward societies. |
The schools will be set up across the country with support from the corporate sector. |
Addressing a press meet, Nalini Gangadharan, executive director of LABS, said, "We will be working with the municipal administrations of various areas to help them set up these schools. The schools will focus on imparting vocational and academic education to the students. It will be like a finishing school that will prepare them for jobs in future." |
Dr Reddy's will not be investing any money on infrastructure creation. The corporates will have financial and non-financial partnership options. |
The non-financial options include placement, industry visits, course design, guest lectures and so on. Corporates could also sponsor students for the courses. The courses will be for short durations and will provide training in areas like billing, desk-top publishing, house keeping and so on. |
