eBay to hike marketing budget

eBay India, formerly Bazee.com, will double its investment in marketing this year, as part of its brand building exercise.
 
Gautam Thakar, marketing director of eBay India, said, the company would increase its internet marketing initiatives for building awareness.
 
He said thanks to the integration of the company with its global networks, we would offer small enterprises a level playing field in the export market.
 
He said exporters of low-volume, high value items like jewellery and top-end garments stood to gain the most from this.
 
The budget estimate would double this year for marketing.
 
eBay would also increase penetration in B and C class cities. Thakar said, there were many centres of excellence across the country and eBay would try and incorporate products from such centres on its site.
 
eBay India has over one million registered used.
 
These users were from over 240 cities in India.
 
eBay India offers three formats to sell products and services""auction, fixed price and classifieds (for real estate and services).
