Mid-career executives who resigned from positions in the state and central government and public sector units to study at the Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad (IIM-A) is the first batch of Post Graduate Programme in Public Management and Policy (PGP-PMP), have finished placements with offers ranging from Rs 15 lakh to Rs 40 lakh "" nearly five times more than their previous employment. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The 24 participants out of 33 who opted for placements have been offered positions like vice-president, additional vice-president, chief managers, principal consultant in top firms. The highest offers have been made by Reliance AGAG, PWC and Adani Group. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The PGP-PMP is a one-year programme targeted at those looking to take on senior management positions in public management and policy. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
"Focused attention on subjects like infrastructure development, financial regulation, public policy and governance and technology management, have managed to attract recruiters who are looking for people to head their Public-Private Partnership projects," said Sebastian Morris, Chairperson of the PGP-PMP programme.

The response to the first batch has already alerted IIM-Ahmedabad decision makers who will increase the intake of the batch from 33 to 45. As with all other programmes at the institute, the PGP-PMP is also expected to see a fee hike from Rs 8.5 lakhs to Rs 12 lakhs for the next batch.
