Having embarked on a novel project to promote people with entrepreneurial skills onto education through 'Edupreneur', Everonn Education now plans to bring the centres to Gujarat.

Everonn will mobilise Edupreneurs from cross sections of first and second generation business entrepreneurs. Everonn will employ a combination of tools from the brick and mortar format to technology platforms for delivering content for which the VSAT network will form the backbone.

"In phase one, Everonn is currently opening up centres in southern India. In the second phase, the company is looking at opening anywhere between 8 and 10 in Gujarat. The company hopes to do so by April 2011 before the new academic year begins," said a source close to the development.

Everonn aims to address the issue of standardised content and course delivery by experts which will ultimately help students to overcome the hitherto existing gaps in learning. Each of these new education centres to be run by Edupreneurs will provide teaching content catering to students from pre-school to B-school.

With this, Everonn aims to promote Business Leaders who will turn into Ambassadors of Learning to spread education with a missionary zeal as the nation witnesses an unprecedented boom in the sector. Nationally, Everonn Edupreneur targets 1,000 locations taking its footprint to almost every district in India and also the mini-metros and metros.

According to Everonn, the implementation of the Right To Education Act by the government will alone see an investment of Rs 1,50,000 crore over a period of about five years. Moreover, the government has given a high priority to education in the Eleventh Five-Year Plan as a central instrument for achieving rapid and inclusive growth with specific emphasis on expansion, excellence and equity. The Plan allocation for the sector has also been hiked from 7.7 per cent to 20 per cent which translates into an investment of Rs three lakh crore.

According to P Kishore, founder and Managing Director of Everonn Education Limited, “As India grows to be an economic super power, there is bound to be a quantum growth in the field of education and the need to acquire industry relevant skills to be able to effectively face intense global competition. Everonn has decided to launch the Edupreneur initiative as a significant and ambitious effort to bridge the country’s education gap. Our endeavor is to tap the unlimited business in the education space and build skills and attributes amongst our students."

The VSAT-based education provides an ideal solution to the perennial shortage of teaching staff and will ensure a consistent learning experience through programming from a single location that can be beamed to multiple centres.

All Edupreneurs will go through an Education Management Program developed in association with a leading University in south India, to ensure uniformity in implementing the project.

Everonn is the first education and training company to offer satellite-enabled learning using breakthrough technologies bringing knowledge to students across geographical and cultural borders.

Everonn reaches out to over three million students through 9689 learning centres across 27 states and works with 16 state governments.
