FMS launches business paper contest

The faculty of management studies (FMS), Delhi University, has introduced Taksha, a competition inviting business papers on services management.

Taksha will invite participants to submit a business paper of 3,000 words on sectors such as health, retail, IT/ITES and financial services.

Management students as well as employees of companies can participate in the contest. Each paper must highlight the present scenario in the sector, the challenges ahead, the future vision and the strategies that need to be followed.

Each team will have not more than two members and, in the first phase, all papers will be scrutinised by a team of judges comprising of the faculty and other industry leaders. And the five best papers will be short-listed for the second phase.

The teams will make presentations and answer questions posed by the panel of judges in the second phase. The registration and submission of paper is open till February 15.

The five finalists will be announced on February 20 and will be required to make the presentations on February 28 at FMS.

So far, more than 110 participants have shown interest in being a part of Taksha, with entries from corporates like Infosys, Cognizant Technologies, Birlasoft, HP, SEBI, Torrent Pharma, Synet, Hughes Software, Wipro, Maruti Udyog and L&T. Most of the A grade professional business schools including IIMs, MDI, SP Jain, IIFT, Jamnalal Bajaj, IIT Bombay and IIT Kanpur have also sent in their entries.

The FMS' services management course is the first full-time MBA programme in India that trains and creates professionals and business heads in the services sector. This is also the first regular full-time MBA programme from FMS at the south campus.
