Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) has joined hands with HughesNet Global Education Platform for an 18-month 'Executive Masters in International Business' (EMIB) programme.
 
The programme will commence from January 2007 and will have three weeks of classroom study at the IIFT campus and also a visit to the port.
 
Post-graduates with a minimum of three years and graduates with a minimum of five years of work experience can apply for this programme. It is priced at Rs 1.35 lakh and the last date for submitting forms is November 25.
 
Human engineering
 
The ICFAI Business School, Mumbai in association with the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) will hold a one-day seminar on November 16 at Nehru Center, Mumbai.
 
The topic will be "Technology Management and Human Engineering". The keynote speaker will be Massoud Amin, Director Center of US-based Technological Leadership University of Minnesota.
 
MBA from Auckland
 
Institute of Finance and International Management, Bangalore,has signed an MoU with Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand to introduce the internationally acclaimed AUT-IFIM MBA programme in India.
 
The programme is designed specifically for working professionals who wish to enhance their business management skills and keep abreast with the latest tools and techniques of today's corporate world.
 
The degree is identical to the MBA degree offered by AUT University on its New Zealand campus and a student of the IFIM -AUT MBA programme will have the opportunity to pursue any of the modules of his/her choice on the AUT campus in New Zealand. The degree is internationally recognized.
 
The MBA applicants are expected to have either an undergraduate degree or a graduate diploma or a professional qualification in a relevant discipline; have a minimum of three years relevant work experience since gaining his/her degree or any other qualification; applicants for whom English is a second language must have an IELTS (Academic) score of 6.5 overall and a minimum of 6.0 in each.
 
The candidates are expected to have secured a good score in any of the B School admission tests "� CAT/MAT/XAT/ATMA or are expected to take the test administered by IFIM-AUT.
 
Financial planning
 
The International College of Financial Planning (ICFP), India's leading college, providing courses related to financial services, has launched a full-time one year industry-integrated programme "� post graduate diploma in financial planning (PGDFP), in Mumbai. Graduates can apply for the course. The fee is Rs 1.6 lakh.
 
"Live Chat" on US Visa Issues
 
With the recent elimination of the $50 issuance fee and visa appointment waiting times reduced to one week or less, there has not been a better time to apply for a US visa.
 
The US consulate is arranging webchat and live chat on US vias issues with Glen Keiser and Angela Kerwin, consular chief and non-immigrant visa chief, respectively, of the U.S. Consulate General in Mumbai.
