HR firm TeamLease in expansion mode

TeamLease Services Pvt Ltd, the largest structured player in the human resources (HR) outsourcing industry, is in an expansion mode. Having set up 12 offices across the country already, TeamLease aims to set up four more offices by the end of the current fiscal.
 
At present, it has over 14,000 associates (skilled persons who can be sent to various clients for jobs), and the company plans raise this number to over 45,000 by 2007.
 
"In the next three or four years, human resources outsourcing will be have a very large market space in the country. while the MNCs are already conversant with the idea of hiring skilled professionals temporarily for a specified period, their Indian counterparts are quickly adopting the concept," said Deep Mukherjee, assistant vice-president, TeamLease Services, in Ahmedabad on Wednesday.
 
Mukherjee was in the state to explore expansion opportunities for the company.
 
Formed in 2001, TeamLease will continue to expand and look at newer business opportunities for growth, Mukherjee said. He added that the company recently submitted a white paper to the Union government on the need for labour reforms, so that temporary employment opportunities get a boost.
 
"We are especially looking to provide human resources to industries located in special economic zones, where labour norms are far more flexible and TeamLease has been dealing only in skilled personnel, with the average salary ranging between Rs 15,000 and Rs 20,000," said Mukherjee.
 
Commenting on growth opportunities in the state, the official said that the textiles sector with newer opportunities in the post quota regime, the pharmaceutical sector and the retailing sector will remain the focus. But TeamLease will continue to work across all industry verticals.
 
TeamLease has over 125 clients across industry segments, some of which include Reliance Telecom, Metro Cash and Carry, Intel, MindTree, Ingersoll-Rand, ING Vysya, GEMSA, GECP, Sify, Philips, Dr Reddys, SHV energy, Intelligroup, SDG, BASF, Pfizer, Dresser Rand, DSP, Alcatel, Lufthansa, DuPont, Electrolux, HECL, Exxon, HP Tata Honeywell, Thermax, SC Johnson among others.
 
It has also tied up with Monster, Naukri, JobsAhead and Jobstreet to have access to their database, which on an aggregate basis, has over 12 lakh resumes.
