Institute for Integrated Learning in Management (IILM) for higher education has affiliated with the University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), to offer A-level certifications to school students in India.

The CIE is a provider of international examinations and qualifications. It is a department of University of Cambridge. The CIE is a not-for-profit organisation with centres in more than 150 countries.

If schools in India continue to adopt the programme at the current rate, the number of schools offering Cambridge qualifications will grow from 85 to 200 by end of this year.

Many of CIE trainers are also chief examiners who write and moderate examinations. Mark Bartholomew, CIE's regional manager, South Asia, said, "CIE provides O levels for class X students and A levels for class XI and XII, to enhance their skills so that they may compete internationally."

The CIE qualifications are recognised and accepted by universities in United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, south-east Asia and the Gulf. They are also recognised and accepted by Association of Indian Universities.

The programmes are continuously upgraded to remain relevant in the changing international education environment. The teacher training programmes are also designed such that teachers can think of more innovative teaching tools.

The CIE also offers teacher support programmes in India, including the Cambridge international Diploma for Teachers and Trainers.
