In a bid to strengthen research and specialisation, the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) has revamped its faculty development programme (FDP). Beginning from June 9, 2014, the refurbished FDP will see its 36th rendition this year.
According to the premier B-school, among the modifications made to its existing content, the programme has been strengthened by a significant increase in inputs in research methodology, keeping in mind the need for building such skills in the management faculty of the country.
“In comparison to previous offerings, in the refurbished FDP the specialization part is significantly strengthened. The programme purports to provide specialized course work in three primary areas of management, namely, Finance, Marketing and Organization Behaviour and Industrial Relations,” the institute stated in an official communique.

The FDP looks to upgrade teaching, training, and research skills of management teachers. So far a total of 703 faculty members have completed their FDP at IIM-A wherein the programme attracted number of participants from, other countries such as Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Ethiopia and Sri Lanka.
