Close on the heels of achieving global recognition in terms of top accreditations and rankings, the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta (IIM-C) wrapped up its summer placements by placing over 450 students of the batch of 2014-16 in just over 2.5 days.

According to IIM-C, of the total batch size of 462 at the institute, 11 opted out of placements, while 451 were recruited for summer internships, with Amazon emerging as the highest recruiter at 22 offers. What’s more, about 378 offers were made in Slot 0 itself, which comprises Day 0 and Day 1.

On the other hand, IIM Ahmedabad (IIM-A) concluded summer internship placements for its post graduate programme in agri-business management (PGP-ABM) on Saturday even as the process continues for its flagship programme PGP. About 46 students out of the total PGP-ABM batch of 49 sought placements through IIM-A and were placed in less than a day. The rest three students opted out of summer placements to pursue their own business idea under the mentorship of Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE) as a part of summer internship.

At IIM-C, the maximum offers after Amazon were made by consulting majors Accenture (17) and The Boston Consulting Group (15).
