Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (IIM-L) has inducted its largest ever Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) batch of 419 students for the 2011-13 session.
Although a majority of students have engineering background (82 per cent), their percentage is down by 2.5 per cent compared to the previous year.
There are 36 students from commerce stream, while science, architecture and medicine streams accounted for 8, 4 and 11 students respectively.
The current batch witnessed an increase in the number of students from commerce stream, with a new trend of increase in student number from medical and related fields.
The gender profile breakup reveals 86 per cent and 14 per cent students are males and females respectively.
The percentage of students with less than 12 months of work experience is 42 per cent and students, who have over 36 months of work experience is 20 per cent.
