IIMC to host B-school meet in 2005

Indian Institute of Management Calcutta will host the national B-school festival branded Intaglio 2005 from January 7, 2005, with the theme, "Excelling at managing change".
 
The event aims to inspire the business leaders of tomorrow to look for answers that can transform challenges into engines of growth, IIMC said in a release.
 
New trade policies and business practices, powered by sophisticated technology and rapidly adjusting competition, is making business a matter of vision and foresight in which rare windows of opportunities can throw up global leaders, it added.
 
Flagship events include 'Shastrarth', a paper presentation contest on economics, finance, marketing, systems and strategy, and the 'Reverberations' lecture series by academia and industry heavyweights like Mohanbir Sawhney of the Kellogg School of Business, Kiran Karnik of Nasscom and Ajit Balakrishnan of Rediff.com.
 
This year will see the debut of 'Electrisk', a financial engineering case for display of skills at risk management with derivates that is claimed to be the first such event to be ever held at a B-school in Asia.
 
Intaglio will have its usual events in fields like marketing, systems, strategy, operations and finance as well, the release said.
 
There would be a host of online games which will stretch for four weeks on the sidelines of the event, the Intaglio 2005 website 'www.iimcal.ac.in/intaglio' said.
