Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode (IIMK) has completed the summer placement process for the 15the batch of its flagship PGP programme comprising 343 students. IIMK continued to maintain its 100 per cent placement record with over 100 firms making internship offers spanning across all verticals. The process saw the participation of over 35 firms that took part for the first time in addition to the other regular companies. Many of the firms made a record number of offers, the highest over several years.
Several first time recruiters like TAS, CLSA, Societe Generale, Amazon, Avalon Consulting, Macquarie Capital, Yahoo, Dabur, RPG Group, Mentor Graphics and Dawn Consulting participated in the selection process for overseas locations like Hong Kong, London and Dubai.
Some of India’s most well-known MNCs like ITC, Asian Paints, Reliance Industries, Axis Bank, Mahindra & Mahindra and Cognizant also participated, an institute release said. Investment banks and other financial institutions lapped up 25 per cent of the batch and made a higher number of offers as compared with last year despite concerns over recessionary trends appearing in the European markets.
Participation of the likes of Deutche Bank, JP Morgan Chase, Nomura, Macquarie Capital, American Express, Standard Chartered Bank, HSBC, Citibank, Goldman Sachs and Edelweiss ensured that there was no dearth of opportunities for students aspiring for a career in finance.
Several students chose to break the mould and preferred to take up roles in emerging sectors.
