The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, has proposed a specialised B.Tech programme in energy science and engineering stream this year to mark its golden jubilee celebrations which begins in the month of September 2007. |
The institute will also offer dual degree option and expand its research activities as well as engage in a compressive faculty development programme. |
IIT Bombay's Director Ashok Mishra said golden jubilee celebrations will trigger initiatives in the area of research into the technologies that the world will face in the coming years. |
The institute has introduced a specialised course in energy science and engineering which will focus on subjects like alternative fuels to deal with the fundamentals of energy and conservation aspects. |

According to a survey conducted by AdEx India -- a division of TAM Media research, TV advertising by the education sector has seen a growth of 82 per cent in January-May 2007 over the same period last year. |
Educational institutions grabbed 62 per cent of advertising pie followed by Vocational training institutes' and 'Coaching Centre/Competitive Exams' with 14 per cent and 12 per cent share respectively. Coaching Centres exhibited the maximum growth of 2.2 times in advertising volumes. |
