"Students will be provided with facilities to develop prototypes and conduct research work in jewellery design. While it is still at a proposal stage among the board of governors, we are ready to set up the incubator anytime since the campus has the latest technology available for jewellery design," said Nitesh Vyas, director, NIFT.
Vyas added that the campus would hardly incur any costs on the incubation centre since the required infrastructure is readily available for the incubatees.
NIFT runs courses on fashion and lifestyle accessory design, fashion and apparel design, fashion and textile design, apparel production and fashion management studies.
Recently, the Ministry of Textile announced setting up its first overseas campus in Mauritius from the academic year 2008-09, offering courses like fashion management and fashion designing.
