The number of outpatient and inpatient treatments in India will touch 2,542 million and 49 million, respectively, by 2011.

Image-guided and other advanced surgeries will help decrease the number of days for hospital stay substantially, in some cases by two weeks.

For optimal healthcare requirement, the country needs 32,700 acres of land (floor space index of 1:1).

Patient rooms will improve significantly to meet the global standard of approximately 160 square feet area, exclusive of toilets, closets, lockers, wardrobes, vestibules and so on.

Rooms in hospitals in developed countries have been designed to reduce the chances of patient falling by over 75 per cent. Indian hospital will follow similar design standards.
