Millennium Global Business Solutions (MGBS) has introduced two workshops on Six Sigma at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, and the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce, Chennai chapter.

Six Sigma is largely used by companies to reduce variation in products and processes, so that there are fewer defects, increased capacity and throughput, less cost, higher revenues and reduced capital expenditures.

Ganesh Hariharan, head-Asia, MGBS, said that the company was expected to finalise the implementation of Six Sigma in a company shortly. MCBS started its operations in India in 2006.

Shree Nanguneri, president and CEO, MGBS, said modules offered by MGBS were expected to address basic business and professional management skills and communication skills for interacting with different teams and networking skills across professional communities.

Training is imparted at three levels - namely, 'green belt', which is an introduction and application, 'black belt' which would include the intermediate and analytical, and 'master black belt', which signifies advanced evaluation associated with the application or the successful completion of projects.

Certification for these levels will be based on international standards, in compliance with training and project requirements, qualification in the oral review as well as written tests, proposal to re-certify every two years to maintain certified status and induction into virtual hall of fame of certified practioners.
