D candidates for GD/PI, it is a minimum of 17 per cent in each of the three sections and 25 per cent on the aggregate. Most of the IIMs will look at around 18-20 per cent cut off in each section. Ultimately a little over 1600 students will make it to the final admission list.

This year, for the first time, all the IIMs will be uploading their sectional and overall cut-offs in the next couple days on their respective websites to avoid any controversy over the admission process as had occurred with IIM Bangalore when a differently abled candidate had asked for her cut-off details though the Right to Information (RTI) act.

Similarly, IIM Indore had also received applications under the RTI act to disclose its admission criteria.

Rajiv Gandhi Indian Institute of Management (RG-IIM) Shillong, the new entrant to the IIM fold which will offer 60 seats this year is yet to decide its admission criteria.

An official from IIM Ahmedabad will be be deputed at the institute for the admission process.

The soon to be director of the institute,Ashok Kumar Dutta, who is currently Director of Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management, Kolkata is expected to take up the reins of the institute by the end of January. |
