NID offers photography course

The National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad, will introduce a one-year post graduate programme in photography design at its Ahmedabad campus.

The course will be launched in October and offers around 20 seats. With a fee of Rs 1.5 lakh, the programme will focus on areas like documentaries, the news industry, fashion, portrait, advertising and forensic photography.

The programme will be anchored by Deepak John Mathew, communication design faculty at the NID. The institute also plans to have visiting faculty for the programme. The course will include practical sessions on indoor and outdoor shooting, besides theory classes. Graduates in any discipline are eligible for the course.

 

XIMB may offer dual degrees from 2009-10

The Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar, (XIMB) has signed a MoU (memorandum of understanding) with the US-based Eastern Michigan University (EMU) for offering dual degree programmes to its students.

PT Joseph, director, XIMB, said: “Our students will spend two semesters at the EMU and will be awarded certificates in post graduate programmes like the MS degree in Information Systems and MS in Organisational Behaviour apart from the conventional MBA course.”

Following the All-India Council for Technical Education’s (AICTE’s) approval, the dual degree courses will be offered from from 2009-10.

XIMB has also entered into a tie-up with the New York-based Fordham University for student exchange programmes. The institute is also close to entering into collaboration with the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, New Delhi.
