In a statement, the school said the number of women students has been rising steadily and has increased by almost 120% in the last seven years
“With 231 women in the class, ISB has the largest number of women students among premier business schools in the country. This is a heartening development and is a result of the various initiatives that we have undertaken to encourage women professionals to take up management as a career, in association with the corporate world over the last few years. We hope this increased participation of women will go a long way in meeting the need for gender diversity across sectors,” said Savita Mahajan, Deputy Dean, ISB.
The total number of students is 763 with 553 students in the Hyderabad campus and 210 students in Mohali campus. The average work experience in the batch is 5 years.
Interestingly, this year saw the entry of students in the 2015 batch the Young Leaders Proramme (YLP), from students have been mentored and supported by the ISB over the last two years even as they gained the mandatory two years of work experience required to get into the PGP.
These students have studied in institutions such as Shri Ram College of Commerce, NIT, IIT and BITS Pilani, and have worked in organisations such as Google, Deloitte, Wal-Mart, ZS Associates and Capstone Securities and Analysis.
