On managing brands

Continuing with the series of chief executive forum workshops, the Indian Institute of Planning and Management (IIPM) and Planman Consulting organised a session on "Managing brands" in Mumbai, on April 16.
 
The workshop leaders were Ravi Dhar of the Yale School of Management and A Sandeep of IIPM. The workshop was a combination of lectures, discussions and cases and included interaction on topics such as delivering a value proposition through branding "" defining, managing and building brands; and branding strategies "" launching brand extensions; reviving brand value; and brand management positioning exercises.
 
AIMA's initiative
 
The IC Centre for Governance and All India Management Association (AIMA) organised a national convention on "Transparency and Accountability in Public Governance" in New Delhi recently.
 
The convention saw a number of senior government officials come together, including former Cabinet secretary Prabhat Kumar; Fali Nariman, member of Parliament; and Soli Sorabji, former Attorney General of India.
 
The speakers offered guideposts to the gathering of officials present at the occasion. The occasion was also the setting for the launch of Russi Lala's book In Search of Ethical Leadership.
