The PICT School of Information Technology and Management (PICT-SITM) has entered into a strategic alliance with Coventry University, UK. |
The two partners have concluded a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the respective professors of the institutions, N Ramakrishna, founder trustee, society for computer technology and research and Madeleine Atkins, vice chancellor, Coventry University Higher Education Corporation. |
"This alliance will help us focus on the development and enhancement of virtual learning environments and help us develop intellectual capital. This programme will be operated by our two institutions and processed through scalable projects. We are doing this for the first time with an Indian partner," said Devid Noon, the dean of Coventry Business School. |
"We are planing to start our first course from July 2006. We are going to offer an exclusive MBA course with specialisation in marketing, finance, HR and also IT, engineering management and logistics. The successful candidates will receive degree certificates from Coventry University. We are also launching a postgraduate diploma in business management (PGDBM) course, which we are planning to start later next year," said Ramakrishna. |
The alliance aims to conduct joint research across verticals such as automotive, IT, engineering designs and service sectors. PICT-SITM is a constituent of Society for Computer Technology and Research. |
It is an autonomous institute that offers high quality and industry driven postgraduate education in business management, information technology, project management, VLSI design and embedded technology. |
The alliance, broadly encompasses domains like business management, computing, IT, multimedia and so on. The alliance will bring to India, additions to programmes in mobile computing, GIS and GPS systems, telecom management, network management, wireless networking and networking security. |
The alliance will enable both the partners to share best practices and set in place, systems and processes to support virtual learning environment. It will allow PICT-SITM students to access world class faculty, learning materials and methods. |
